Free Hotel Stays from Las Vegas to Orlando, Fla., for 2,500 Military Families

Nov 10, 2015

Veteran's Day is coming up, and Westgate Resorts will again honor members of the military and their families by giving them a break on their next vacation.

The Florida-based company plans to give 2,500 active military members and veterans a two-night vacation at eight hotels, including, for the first time, the Westgate Las Vegas Resort Casino.

The deal: Westgate's chief executive, David Siegel, is a veteran who organizes the giveaway each year to thank those who serve their country.

Here's how it works: The first 2,500 eligible service members to fill out an online "military appreciation" form (you'll find it at www.westgatedestinations.com/thankyoumilitary on Nov. 11) will receive the free hotel nights.

Destinations include Westgate resorts in River Ranch, Orlando and Kissimmee (three locations) in Florida; one each in Branson, Mo., and Gatlinburg, Tenn.; and the one in Las Vegas at 3000 Paradise Road.

When: Set your clock for 6 a.m. Pacific time Nov. 11 (Veterans Day), when the offer goes live. Remember, only the first 2,500 submissions can score the free rooms. If you receive a free hotel stay, you must use it by Nov. 26, 2016.

FOR THE RECORD

2:05 p.m. Nov. 3: An earlier version of this article stated that the deadline for hotel stays was Nov. 26. It is Nov. 26, 2016.

Details: To be eligible, military members must have served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003), Operation Enduring Freedom (starting in 2001) and/or the war on terror (service from 9/11 to present). Also you'll need to book this with a credit card, even though it won't be charged.

Veterans who don't qualify for the deal receive a 25% military discount on Nov. 11 stays only.
