Want to get a sneak peek behind the curtain of world affiars and international diplomacy? Visit the United Nations right in the middle of Midtown East and take a guided tour that elts you explore behind the scenes at the United Nations.

Tour Details: Check-in at the Visitor Check-in Office located at 45th Street and 1st Avenue. after this, you'll need to go across the street for a quick security screening and then enter the General Assembly Building of the UN. Once inside, your tour check-in location will be at the back of the Lobby in the General Assembly. Things to know before you go:

  • Tours last 45-60 minutes long.

  • For security reasons, children under 5 years of age are not permitted on tour.

  • Children (5-12 years of age) on tour must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a ticket.

  • Due to international events/concerns, UN Headquarters may sometimes close to the public on very short notice.

Special United Nations Kids Tour

Have some little ones that are interested in exploring the United Nations, but without too many facts and figures to bog down the experience? If so, The United Nations Kids Tours and Corridor is right up your alley, bringing wall-sized maps, quizzes, role-playing games and eye-catching, kid-friendly tour experiences together into a fun, engaging tour geared towards 5 to 10-year-olds as you and your kids learn about the United Nations and their role in the world.

Explore a real-size refugee tent and listen to real life stories about children from around the world facing challenges such as hunger, natural disasters or diseases, and how the UN is helping them overcome these obstacles on this educational field-trip that empowers kids to get involved and become global citizens! Some good things to know before you go:

  • Please dress appropriately for the diplomatic environment of the United Nations.

  • For security reasons, children under 5 years old are not permitted on tour.

  • Arrive at the UN premises one hour prior to your tour time for security screening

  • If you arrive more than 15 minutes after your tour time (late) and do not check-in at the Cashiers Desk, your reservation will not be honoured.

  • In the unlikely event that a language tour booked is not available on the day, the tour will be conducted in English.
