Kamloops Airport (YKA)
Rental Car (Primary and Recommended Option)
This is the most practical, flexible, and often the most cost-effective method. Several rental car agencies are located directly at the airport terminal. The 1-hour drive gives you the freedom to travel at your own pace and have a vehicle for any local errands during your stay.
Taxis / Ride-Sharing (Secondary Option)
Taxis are available at the airport. A 1-hour trip is possible but will be quite expensive.
Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft operate in Kamloops, but it may be difficult to find a driver willing to take a 1-hour trip outside of the main service area. Arranging a return trip back to the airport from a remote location would be very unreliable. This option is not recommended over a rental car.
Private Shuttle (Possible Option for Groups)
You can pre-book a private shuttle or charter van service. This can be a good option for larger groups traveling together, but it requires advance reservation and is generally more expensive than a rental car for individuals or small families.
Public Transit (Not an Option)
Public bus routes (BC Transit) are designed for service within the city of Kamloops and will not extend to a destination an hour away, especially if it is a lodge or in a rural area.
