Las Vegas Nonprofits Honored at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino Westgate Resorts Foundation 2019 Grantee Luncheon

LAS VEGAS – February 11, 2019 – The iconic Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino hosted a special luncheon at the award-winning Edge Steakhouse to announce the local Las Vegas 2019 Westgate Resorts Foundation grant recipients. For the third year in a row, the Foundation invested more than $1 million in nonprofits that are building Strong Families and a Strong Workforce in each of its resort communities. Today’s luncheon honored the three local nonprofits serving Las Vegas that were selected. This year those include HELP of Southern Nevada, Three Square and The Shade Tree.
Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino President & General Manager Cami Christensen hosted the luncheon and presented a check to each of this year’s grantees. Ms. Christensen said that “Westgate Las Vegas is privileged and proud to celebrate three recipients that are right here in Las Vegas.” She introduced representatives from this year’s grantees and each spoke of their organizations and how they will put their grant to work in the community.
HELP of Southern Nevada was chosen in the Youth & Family Homelessness category for their Shannon West Homeless Youth Center.
Three Square was chosen in the Education category for their Back Pack For Kids Program.
The Shade Tree was chosen in the Domestic Violence category for Emergency Shelter Program.
Christensen closed the luncheon by thanking each of the nonprofits for the work that they do. She said that,“each of your organizations and each of you are making a difference. On behalf of the Westgate Las Vegas and the Westgate Resorts Foundation we thank you for all you do and look forward to continuing to support your efforts.”
The Westgate Resorts Foundation is committed to supporting nonprofits that are working to build Strong Families and a Strong Workforce in each of its resort communities. Organizations are invited each year to apply in the areas of homelessness, domestic violence and education.
