Orlando, Fla. – September 11, 2019 – Westgate Resorts announced today that it was not only maintaining its industry-leading position on third-party meeting planner commissions in defiance of the current industry trend of slashing commissions, but that it will also implement seasonal increases on commissions for 2019.
Westgate Resorts, which operates 27 resorts and hotels with over 300,000 square feet of meeting space nationwide, including the top convention destinations Orlando and Las Vegas, will offer a minimum of 10 percent commission for planners year-round, and even offer increased commissions of up to 12 & 15 percent during specific timeframes and at many of its locations for all new group business contracted by December 31, 2019. In contrast, several other prominent hotel companies have slashed their commissions drastically over the past year, taking away up to a third of the commission independent meeting planners were receiving previously.
“We value our relationships with independent meeting planners as an important partnership and want to show our appreciation for the hard work they do,” said Westgate Resorts Chief Business Officer Jared Saft. “We plan to continue to reward our independent meeting planner partners at our resorts nationwide.”
With 27 resorts across the United States offering group travel options, Westgate Resorts offers unprecedented flexibility for meeting planners. Boasting a combined 300,000 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space in a multitude of highly desirable destinations ranging from Central Florida theme parks and the white-sand beaches of Cocoa Beach to its world-famous hotel in Las Vegas, to the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains, Westgate can accommodate nearly any type of group booking or meeting.
Westgate Resorts has continued to boost its efforts to serve group business with new and upgraded meeting space at many of its resort properties such as Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa, Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort/Cocoa Beach Pier, Westgate Park City Resort & Spa, Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo and Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino, among others.
