Engelbert Humperdinck Live at Westgate Las Vegas

Engelbert Humperdinck

Humperdinck’s single "Release Me" featuring a young Jimmy Page is in the Guiness Book of Records for achieving 56 consecutive weeks on the UK Singles charts and was at #1 in 11 countries. In early 1967, Humperdinck was involved in the most legendary upset in UK chart history. Humperdinck’s "Release Me" blocked The Beatles’ "Penny Lane" / "Strawberry Fields Forever" from the #1 spot for 6 weeks. This broke a four-year, 11-song streak of consecutive UK number-one hits that The Beatles previously held. He also achieved the rare feat of scoring two separate million-selling UK singles in the same year "Release Me" and "The Last Waltz" in 1967. Only 5 other artists (Beatles, John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John, Boney M, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, The Spice Girls) have broken this record with 2 tracks and Ed Sheeren broke the record with 4 tracks in 2017.

His multi-platinum selling chart hits such as “Release Me”, “The Last Waltz” or “After the Lovin,’” and others have contributed to 140 million worldwide album sales. Also adding 64 gold and 24 platinum records, four Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe for “Entertainer of the Year” (1988), and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Humperdinck is one of a few artists who can claim such achievements. His new Cleopatra Records Vinyl “Faithfully” was released August 28th this year. The album features Engelbert’s renditions of classic hits by Journey, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, and Aerosmith, among others.

With a keen ability to recognize talent, Humperdinck launched the careers of several legendary musicians including Jimi Hendrix and The Carpenters, offering them opening slots on this sold-out tours in the late ’60’s, 70’s. Humperdinck continues to tour year-round, with upcoming performances scheduled for the U.S., Southeast Asia, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and more.

For those unable to see him on tour, Humperdinck’s pivoted to digital platforms with consistent livestream chats "Tuesday Museday" and "Flashback Friday." His first livestream in 2020 from his home during the pandemic has over 1million views, and his exclusive YouTube concert has more than 2.7million views. He has embraced social media and today’s technology, speaking to his original fans as well introducing Gen Z and more to his clever quips and Engelbert humor.
