2 | Hoover Dam | Not so far from Las Vegas is the popular Hoover Dam. The dam is a truly intriguing achievement in engineering. It lies perpendicular to the Colorado River. Lake Mead is a by-product of the Hoover Dam structure. This lake is the biggest US reservoir when at maximum capacity. 3 | Cirque du Soleil | You should know that the world’s largest producer of contemporary circus – The Cirque du Soleil – has a strong presence in Las Vegas. The Circus of the Sun offers both locals and visitors in Sin City the best acrobatics display and circus-related treats.
The shows put together by the Cirque du Soleil are enriched with both cultural and natural traits. Some of these captivating shows are the LOVE show which was staged at the Mirage in respect of the iconic Beatles band. PRO TIP | If you find yourself wondering where the best seating is at a Cirque du Soliel show, locals recommend Categories One and Two (the Upper and Lower Orchestra) for the best view of the performers. 4 | The Venetian Grand Canal | You can also get a feel of the city, Venice, thanks to the Venetian which is comfortably second on both the world’s lists of largest casinos and largest hotel complexes. Amongst other world-renowned landmarks that have been replicated in Vegas are the Grand Canal, Rialto Bridge, The Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s Square, and St Mark’s Campanile. These replications or reproductions have been done as far back as the 90s.
These replicated structures are a truly marvelous sight to behold. Apart from a dreamlike gondola ride in the Grand Canal, there are also several luxurious stores, the famous Madame Tussauds museum, and Wolfgang Puck’s. 5 | The Las Vegas Strip | You might be familiar with The Strip since it’s a part of Las Vegas that’s popularly featured in films and television series. The Strip is south of Vegas’s Boulevard and 4.2 miles long. It’s not uncommon for people to feel like they’re in a dreamlike state when they see the Mirage Volcano or Bellagio Fountain. One thing you should note about Vegas is that it is dynamic and every new year, there’s some newer experience.
As of March 2019, at least six big projects were being planned and developed in the Strip. 6 | Conservatory and Botanical Gardens | The Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is located within The Bellagio Hotels & Casino Establishment. There’s a professional team of horticulturists that are responsible for the wonderful garden arrangements. The Conservatory features a total of 5 seasonal themes. These themes are Chinese New Year, spring, summer, fall, and winter. For instance, if you visit the Conservatory in summer, you will find prominent colors like red, white, and blue along with lots of hydrangeas in the complex.
The winter holiday display is set up after Thanksgiving. It is usually set with a large Christmas tree and a lot of poinsettias. On Memorial Day weekend, there’s an all-American display with a recreated version of the Liberty Bell, and several national flags to decorate the whole conservatory.

7 | Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign | The Fabulous Las Vegas Sign is a Vegas Landmark that was designed by Betty Willis. It has been in the city from as far back as 1959. Over the years there have been replicas of the original Fabulous Las Vegas Sign placed in different locations around the city including Fremont, Boulder highway, and the Las Vegas Boulevard. The original Fabulous Las Vegas Sign, which is considered to be the southern end of the Vegas Strip, stands at 5100 Las Vegas Boulevard South. The Diamond-shaped sign is about 25-foot-tall and fully reads, “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas.”

When the lights in the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign” are replaced, they are sold to anyone who’s wanting to take them home as a souvenir. 8 | The Volcano | Just in case you haven’t witnessed an actual volcanic eruption before, the Mirage resort provides you with the opportunity to see a synthesized volcanic eruption. The volcano is a part of the rainforest in their Atrium. The captivating volcanic eruption is usually complemented with sounds from Zakir Hussein and the grateful dead’s Mickey Hart.
The resort also boasts of a Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat influenced by Siegfried & Roy. There’s also a theatre were songs reproduced by producer George Martin and son, Giles Martin, are performed. These songs are the Beatles LOVE Cirque du Soleil. The famous Terry Fator’s ventriloquist show is a very prominent show at the Mirage resort.
There are more than enough restaurants serving varieties from Otoro’s Sushi to steak at Tom Colicchio’s Heritage. There are also Italian seafood and American favorites at Osteria Costa and LVB Burgers respectively.
DID YOU KNOW? | When it’s time to erupt, the Volcano’s fire shoots up to 12 feet, or 3.6 meters, over the Atrium’s lagoon. The final surge of fire reaches 60 feet (18 meters) above the crowd. Locals say the best place to view the Volcano eruption is from the entrance at the Mirage near the Valet booth.

9 | Fremont Street Experience | Dating from around the year 2000 till the present time, the cinematic world has seen a lot of Fremont Street in films and Television serials. Even music videos have featured this popular street. On one end of Fremont Street is the neon sign paradise known as Glitter Gulch. This place has aided in the worldwide recognition of Cowboy Vegas Vic and the Fremont Hotel & Casino. Fremont Street itself has also gained lots of attention from these landmark destinations that it houses. The glitter gulch signs along with other famous historical neon signs are now kept beneath an overhead canopy.
This part of Fremont is a beauty to behold as the overhead canopy is fitted with many attractive LED lights. When you’re at this place, you get to experience street shows, nice food spots, and lots more. There is never a dull moment on Fremont Street. Lots of people gather here all the time for popular shows on the three stages situated by the Fremont mall. You can also go on a ride on the SlotZilla zip-lines or shop at the neon-lit Neonopolis complex.
PRO TIP | Parking in popular areas of Las Vegas can be tricky! While the Fremont Street Experience is a must, downtown Las Vegas parking can be complicated. Locals recommend parking at the Freemont Street Experience parking garage, which is also called “The Red Garage” because of its red structures. Guests can pay for parking at the ticket kiosk on the mall level or the 2nd floor. Locals recommend paying on the 2nd floor kiosk, as the mall level kiosks almost always have long lines.

10 | The Eiffel Tower Experience | The Strip is home to replicas of famous French Heritages. These include replicated versions of the Arc de Triomphe, reminders of the Louvre and Paris Opera, and an Eiffel Tower that’s half the original one. This 46-story Eiffel Tower is a favorite among the other replicas.
Just in case you haven’t been to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, you can have a sampling of the original here at the replica tower in Las Vegas. Paris, Las Vegas offers all the fun and games you expect to find at a regular casino. Although this place has not been a great recommendation for family trips, it still provides its guests with a lot of restaurants and bars that put you in a French-like environment. There are also several shows to pick from, nice stores, and the Chateau rooftop nightclub.
GREAT FOR DATE NIGHT | If you’re looking for the perfect way to celebrate your anniversary or just to spend a romantic evening with your partner, the Eiffel Tower Restaurant lies 110 feet above the Strip and offers a traditional Parisian menu, including fresh oysters and foie gras torchon.

11 | The Mob Museum | During the 1950s, there were 14 total Kefauver Committee hearings set up around the United States for the purpose of shedding light on hidden criminal activity. One of these 14 hearings was done in the Las Vegas Post Office/Courthouse somewhere off Fremont Street.
The mob museum was birthed by these hearings that took place years ago and is housed within the Fremont Courthouse. The museum enlightens visitors on the history of the mob’s crimes and their secrets that were kept hidden. Some of the content shown at the museum is not suitable for kids, so don’t take your kids here.
The Mob Museum takes you on an investigative trip as you discover truths about the mob’s criminal engagements across America. You also learn about how the state’s enforcers of justice pursued the mob and attempted to bring them down. There’s a crime lab where you get to do some exciting stuff like checking your fingerprints to see if they match that of a crime boss. Let’s hope it doesn’t.
The Mob Museum also does something called “The Use of Force Training Experience.” You get to act as an officer of the law and run some simulated drills. Anyone that intrigued by crime history will have a great time at this museum.
PRO TIP | If you’re like most people, you’re always looking for a place to pinch pennies, especially when you are on vacation. The Mob Museum offers great discounts and coupons can be found in hotel lobbies or really anywhere that discount tickets can be purchased.

12 | SPEEDVEGAS | If you’re 18 years old or above and you’re excited about driving high-end sports cars in an organized race, SPEEDVEGAS is just the perfect place for you. It provides drivers and passengers with an opportunity to engage in off-road racing, ride-along experiences, and gravity-defying jumps. You get to do all these in your favorite Jaguar, Lamborghini, Audi, Chevrolet, and lots more.
Just like drivers need to be age 18 or above, passengers must also be age 6 or above that. They must also be 60 pounds or more. You should know that the SPEEDVEGAS adventure is made available at a fair price. You are guaranteed to have a great time here.
GREAT FOR BEGINNERS | At SPEEDVEGAS, they don’t leave the need for speed up to the professionals! Prior experience is not required to enjoy this thrilling Las Vegas activity. One of the perks is that you don’t need to know how to drive manual either! All of the vehicles have an “automatic mode,” and drivers can also choose F1-style paddle shifters for gear changes.

13 | High Roller Observation Wheel | If you’re in Vegas for the weekend or at any other time, you should consider taking a ride on the gigantic High Roller Observation Wheel. It’s the tallest of its kind across the globe and peaks at a stunning height of 550 feet. You can just imagine the amazing views that you would get as you ride up the wheel in one of its handcrafted pods.
The pods were crafted using Italian glass in such a way that you get a 360-view of the surrounding Strip below. You can purchase a Happy Half Hour ticket that gives you access to ride in a pod with an open bar and bartender to serve up nice drinks. This can help to spice up the 30-minute ride in the pod. The Happy Half Hour package is for adults. Note that the High Roller Observation Wheel is not the most exciting ride in the city, but it’s still a memorable ride.
PRO TIP | A lot of visitors at the High Roller Observation Wheel have discovered that the right side of the cabin has the best views of Sin City. So, while you’re up in the clouds gazing over the Las Vegas skyline, don’t forget to rotate around your pod to catch all of the epic views!

14 | Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area | There’s a lot for visitors to do and see off the Strip. The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area – few miles from the city – is a beautiful stretch of the natural Mojave Desert. You can choose to enjoy nature’s wonders by driving through the Canyon, hiking along paths, or riding along the scene on your bike. The red hills of the Mojave will carve a memorable mark into your heart.
If you plan to go hiking in this region, it is advised that you choose the best hiking paths before setting out – You don’t want to go treading along the hardest, most stressful routes. Keeping a map of the area on you is also a good idea.
If I was to go on a trip through the desert, I would prefer joining a proper tour group to make things easier for myself. Considering how sunny and hot it is out there, remember to rub on some sunscreen and grab enough bottles of water too. Previous visitors to the Red Rock Canyon have named it as a highly recommended touring zone.
GREAT FOR HIKERS | From the thick groupings of Joshua trees to the scenic sandstone escarpment, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers dozens of hiking trails where visitors can enjoy the various flora and fauna that can be found in the 200,000 area.

15 | Picasso | Just as the name implies, the Picasso is a French restaurant that is fitted with authentic Picasso paintings. The Picasso Restaurant is located at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. The beautiful Restaurant, which strongly reflects Spanish and French culture, is a recipient of several awards like the AAA Five Diamond Award, Wine Spectator’s Best Wine List, Five Star on Forbes Travel Guide, and the James Beard Foundation’s Award for Outstanding Restaurant.
Here at Picasso, the Executive Chef Julian Serrano ensures that guests of the establishment get the most exquisite dishes like their Pan Seared U-10 Day Boat scallop, Roasted Maine Lobster, and Halibut.

16 | Ethel M Chocolate Factory | You can be a part of the thousands of daily guests at the Ethel M Chocolate Factory. A lot of delicious, decadent treats like crèmes, truffles, and cherry cordials amongst others are produced here. The factory presents you with a chance to witness the manufacturing process of some of your favorite chocolates and sweets. Free samples are also handed out to Factory guests from time to time.
Take your time as you tour the chocolate paradise and you might probably bring out some of your money to buy the mouth-watering treats on your way out of the factory. If you don’t mind spending some extra cash, you could pay a token for a more intense chocolate tasting session. Outside the factory is a large cactus garden, with several plant species, that you could freely walk through. Visit Ethel M for a wonderful chocolaty experience.
PRO TIP | After you’re done feasting on your chocolate, don’t forget to venture outside and discover the Botanical Cactus Garden right outside the factory. Forrest Mars was equally as passionate about gardening as he was chocolate, and created the Botanical Cactus Garden, which is based on the naturalistic design found in the English landscape and is one of the largest in the world.

17 | Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge | This bridge was primarily built for easy passage of people over Hoover Dam. The Mike O’ Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge set a new route across the Hoover Dam and created a whole new perceptive angle of the dam. You can freely walk on the bridge and gain some more insight on the bridge’s history as you read information about the bridge and the people it’s named after on the signs placed on the bridge.
The bridge, which is also referred to as the Bypass Bridge, is first place on the list of highest concrete-arch bridges in the world. It peaks at a magnificent 880 feet, making it the second-highest bridge in the US. If you want to get the best views of the Iconic Hoover Dam, you should take a walk on the Mike O’ Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.
DID YOU KNOW | Not only is the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge the second-highest bridge of any kind in the United States, but it’s also the 14th highest in the world and is the highest (and don’t forget longest) concrete, arched bridge in the Western Hemisphere. Say what! This beastly monument makes for a great family photo and some even more amazing Nevada views!

18 | Seven Magic Mountains | The Seven Magic Mountains is a beautiful tourist attraction in Nevada. The large scale desert art was put together by Swiss Artist Ugo Rondinone. The artwork is made of different colored boulders arranged on top of each other.
There are seven different colored-boulder arrangements which make the Seven Magic Mountains. The mountains stand at about 30 feet high and are located somewhere in the Ivanpah Valley next to the Goodsprings ranges of mountains.
If you’re interested in seeing this wonderful expression of art, it’s advised that you do so soon. This is because the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has only given till the year 2021 before the mountains are to be removed from their present site.

27 | The Neon Museum | If you look outside your hotel window in Las Vegas at night, your eyes would be instantly fed with the stunning lights that are vastly spread across Sin City. Some time ago, before the advent of LEDs, Neon signs were the prominent lightning sources that attracted guests to Vegas’ casinos, hotels, clubs, and bars. These Neon signs are no longer used like before but have been kept in a certain place for the preservation of a key part of Vegas’s history.
The place where these signs are kept is called The “Boneyard” within the Neon Museum.
