Flora Mingo is one of Westgate Resorts' original branded characters, designed to personify the fun, colorful, and welcoming spirit of the resort brand. As a flamingo character, Flora represents tropical elegance and warm hospitality. Flora joins the Westgate character family alongside Davey Bear and Wes T. Gator, making appearances at family events, pool parties, kids' clubs, and seasonal celebrations. She's particularly popular at Florida and beach-adjacent Westgate locations.

A Tale of Two Feathers
Hatched on the sun-drenched shores of Elliott Key in Biscayne National Park, Flora is a true "Wild Floridian." She grew up in a traditional flock where everyone stood perfectly still and blended in with the crowd. But young Flora was always the odd bird out, practicing dance moves and fashioning colorful costumes from palm leaves and flowers.
While her flock-mates were happy to just flamingle on the sandbar, Flora saw it as a runway! She'd watch tourists in vibrant vacation outfits performing exotic dances - the salsa, the cha-cha, the twist - and longed to join in. It may have ruffled some feathers, but Flora knew she was meant for more than standing around.
Then one day, she overheard people talking about Westgate Lakes’ famous poolside dance parties and knew she'd found her people – families who gathered to sing, dance, and celebrate life. So, she packed her favorite hula skirt and never looked back.
These days, Flora spends her time planning impromptu conga lines and teaching guests her favorite dance moves. She still struts around the pool deck like it's her personal runway (because let's be honest, it is), but now she's inviting everyone to join her in the spotlight.
