Westgate Resorts welcomes pet dogs only as part of the pet-friendly policy. Other types of animals are not permitted except for qualified service animals. At VI Resorts by Westgate, pets of any kind are NOT allowed.

Guests may bring up to two (2) dogs per reservation as long as the combined weight does not exceed 60 pounds and no longer than 36 inches and no taller than 36 inches.

A mandatory, non-refundable Pet Dog Fee of $150 per reservation is charged at check-in for dogs reported at the time of arrival. An unauthorized Pet Dog Penalty Fee of $150 will be applied if a dog is found in the room/suite that was not reported at check-in.

While Westgate Resorts requires dogs to be supervised or crated whenever guests are not present, housekeeping will not service rooms where a dog is unattended or not properly crated during cleaning hours.

Yes, any dog on a Westgate Resort property must be leashed and under the control of its handler at all times when outside the guest room.

No, Service animals (as defined by applicable law) are permitted without being subject to the pet policy, deposits or pet fees. Westgate Resorts adheres to service animal guidelines separate from the pet policy. Please note that emotional support animals are NOT considered Service Animals under applicable law and will not be recognized under this Service Animal Policy. Emotional support dogs will be required to follow the Dog Friendly Policy and shall be subject to any associated fees.

Pet Dogs of the following “Non-Permitted Dog Breeds” are strictly prohibited: Great Dane, Sharpei, Pit Bull, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Doberman Pinscher, Chow Chow, Presa Canario and any other dog breeds at discretion of Management. Any dog, regardless of breed, that shows aggression will be asked to be removed from the property.

We ask that dogs be declared at the time of booking or during check-in so the reservation can be properly noted and assigned to a pet-friendly accommodation. This helps ensure a smoother arrival experience and confirms that the room is prepared in accordance with our pet-friendly guidelines.

While dogs are welcome on property, they must be on a leash and under control anytime they are outside the guest room. Relief areas are sometimes provided; otherwise, pets should be taken outside public zones for relief.
