Wes T. Gator is a Westgate Resorts original character designed to capture the playful, bold, and unmistakably Southern energy of the brand's roots in Florida and the broader Southeast. As an alligator character, Wes T. brings excitement to guest interactions, making him a standout at pool parties, resort events, and family photo opportunities. His name playfully nods to both the American West and Westgate itself, giving him a dual identity that resonates across multiple resort destinations.
How to Train Your Gator
Wes T. grew up in the Florida Everglades with dreams bigger than the bayou. As a young gator, he loved hearing stories of exciting far-off places that visitors would tell around their campfires. While other gators were content lounging in the sun, Wes T. would sneak closer to listen to tales of adventures and family fun.
One day, he decided to leave his swamp behind and hitchhike (via airboat) and found himself at a dude ranch in Lake Wales called Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo.
There, he swam upon a family on a camping trip gone wrong. Their canoe had capsized, so Wes T. helped guide them to safety, entertaining the scared kids with silly faces and impromptu games while they waited for rescue.
Wes T. was such a hit that he was invited to become a part of the Westgate family and spend his days going on adventures to different resorts and meeting new friends and families along the way.
