Westgate Completes Multi-Million Dollar Upgrades and Renovations throughout Portfolio of Resorts

ORLANDO, Fla., March 29, 2017 – Westgate Resorts, one of the largest resort developers in the world, is pleased to announce the completion of multi-million dollar upgrades and renovations that have made significant enhancements to the guest experience and amenities at all of its resort properties. Their efforts were recognized as Westgate Resorts was named Best Independent Hotel Brand at the 2016 American Group Travel Awards. In addition, Westgate continues to expand in premier travel destinations throughout the United States, including Central Florida.
Here’s a quick look at some of the most noteworthy recent changes throughout Westgate’s portfolio of resorts:
Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa: The centrally located Westgate Lakes in Orlando, Florida, has expanded its meeting offerings with the opening of 20,000 square feet of new meeting and banquet space. The new meeting space is located on the top floor of a new seven-story, mixed-use development, which, when complete, will feature award-winning restaurant concepts, a parking garage, retail shops and other entertainment venues. One of the newest restaurants at Westgate Lakes, Drafts Sports Bar & Grill, brings together the popular concepts of brew pubs and gourmet burger bars, and features high-definition flat-screen TVs, a state-of-the-art game room and mini bowling. Westgate Lakes has also added its own private island, Sunset Key Island, which provides the perfect backdrop for group events such as reunions, weddings, receptions and birthday parties.
Westgate Vacation Villas/Westgate Town Center/Westgate Towers Resort: Located in Kissimmee, Florida, the resort opened a new, two-level, pirate-themed water park, Ship Wreck Island, featuring a pirate ship with water cannons, thrilling waterslides, a lazy river, lagoon splash pad, snack bar, two outdoor pool bars and more.
Westgate Palace Resort: The resort, centrally located to world-famous Orlando, Florida attractions, recently added Drafts Sports Bar & Grill Express. The restaurant brings their popular concepts of brew pubs and gourmet burger bars, as well as poolside drinks, for guests to have a perfect location to unwind after a long day.
Westgate Leisure Resort: Tucked away from the Orlando hustle and bustle is Westgate Leisure Resort. The resort recently added family-fun activities like Frisbee golf, outdoor Chess and Checkers, and Shuffleboard.
Wakulla Suites a Westgate Resort: The oceanfront Wakulla Suites in Cocoa Beach, Florida, recently became part of the Westgate family. Renovations continue on Wakulla Suites a Westgate Resort, which features a tropical atmosphere, spacious suites, beachfront access and complimentary shuttle service to the Cocoa Beach Pier.
Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino: The resort continues to enhance their guests’ experience and has now exceed $200 Million in renovations. The Race and Sports SuperBook® at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino expanded to feature the world’s largest LED videos with the highest screens in Las Vegas. Plus, the award-winning culinary team continues to flourish after their top chefs were selected to cook at the acclaimed James Beard House in New York City.
Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo: An authentic Florida dude ranch located just one hour South of Orlando, Westgate River Ranch has added 10 Luxe Teepees, offering the next evolution in glamping (glamorous camping) luxury. Each Luxe Teepee rises 35 feet high and features upscale amenities such as a double-sided stone rock hearth fireplace, two leather chairs with authentic cowhide ottoman, and porcelain cast iron claw bathtub and shower.
Westgate Park City Resort & Spa: The ultimate ski resort has won numerous awards recently, topping the charts with their 4-Star Rating by Forbes, AAA – Four Diamond Award for ranking the resort as one of the North America’s premier accommodations, 2016 Forbes Travel Guide award for Edge Steakhouse and 2016 Best of State Utah® award for best ski resort.
Westgate Historic Williamsburg Resort: The Williamsburg, Virginia, resort that lies just 0.5 mile from Colonial Williamsburg is expanding its room type offerings to include a new wing of spacious, beautifully appointed colonial rooms and suites.
Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa: After last November’s devastating wildfire, Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa has already reopened and rebuilding efforts on affected areas of the resort continue around the clock. Wild Bear Inn: Westgate has recently acquired Wild Bear Inn, which is ideally located in the heart of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and just minutes from Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
