20 Coffee Shops in Orlando For Your Best Brew!
"Even bad coffee was better than no coffee at all." - David Lynch
Okay, Orlando is definitely a culinary town. But when you think of things to do in Orlando, as you lay about vacationing at an Orlando hotel, you probably think FIRST about all the big amusement park fun & excitement: Mickey Mouse, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Shaquille O’Neal, Pew!! Pew!! Bang!! Bang!! ‘Splosion!!! Weeee!!!! It’s a Small World After All, gleeful screaming, happiest place on Earth kind of fun & excitement. Coffee, on the other hand, is probably not on the list of first things to pop into your head when you hear mention of Orlando, that is unless you have children and you have traversed all this vacation mecca has to offer with them, then you know just how important a cup (or entire pot) of the finest java can be. All kidding aside (don’t get me wrong I still get as giddy as a 1st grader when I go to the parks!) Orlando has one of the finest local coffee scenes around and it is needed. Don’t tell your kids this, but Orlando and all its extremely hard workers do not run on pixy dust & magic, they run on pure black gold, (no Jed, not Texas Tea) Coffee!!!
Orlando's Best Coffee Shops
Where then, you ask, do these behind-the-scenes, magic makers go for the best cup of Joe in town? Well let me tell you, we’ve traveled around the greater Orlando area in search of the 20 Coffee Shops in Orlando for your best brew, sampled endless amounts of both hot & cold caffeinated beverages and put together this list for you, so you can save all your energy for why you’re here in the first place, Vacation!!!
(Disclaimer: While not all locations on this list are just coffee shops per say, you can be rest assured that coffee is offered, ordered, and enjoyed at each one of them.)
1 | Lineage Coffee Roasting | Hands down probably some of the best coffee I’ve ever had, no joke (IMO, best consumed black). The humble folks at Lineage know what they are doing and know, quite frankly, that their coffee is the best. Everything from single cup pour overs to thirst quenching bottled cold brews, Lineage has coffee down. The co-owners Jarrett Johnson, Justine Johnson, & Ryan Wilcox treat the processes of roasting & brewing coffee as an art, sourcing only the freshest beans from places across the globe such as: Guatemala, Colombia, & Kenya, and their ability to get the most out those beans comes through in the amazingly delicious notes they achieve. If you are into cold brew coffee and they are not sold out (Yes, it is that good!), don’t forget to grab a couple to throw back on a hot Orlando day.

2 | I Cafe de' Paris | If you’re hitting up I-Drive or you’ve just gotten off The Wheel at ICON Park, make sure to hop on over to I Café de’ Paris for some magnifique coffee and a crepe or two! I Cafe de' Paris serves wonderful Lavazza brewed coffee, or you can splurge and go extra decadent with a Turkish Coffee after having one of their many amazing crepes! My favorite part of I Cafe de' Paris is the abundance of full service outdoor seating, you could spend your entire day there just hanging outside in the beautiful Orlando weather with friends and family, sipping delicious coffee, eating great food, people watching… what more could you need?

3 | Ok, But First Coffee | Moving along to the always decadent Dr. Phillips neighborhood on restaurant row (Right next door to Universal and I-Drive) we have Ok, But First Coffee, this cozy local favorite will not only supply you with some darn good coffee, but (and I think this is where the “Ok” comes in) with a menu that also has some of the finest cupcakes, pastries, quiches, & sandwiches this side of i-4, you will not leave hungry. You can get your late-night caffeinated buzz on at Ok, But First Coffee since they are open from 8am to 7pm, making it a great place to meet a friend or just enjoy on your own during a lovely Orlando day.

4 | Café D’Avignon | New to the Orlando area, Café D’Avignon in Kissimmee offers up what is well known to our friends from the North East, some of the finest baked breads you’re ever going to sink your teeth into. Even though the spotlight at Café D’Avignon is clearly on Bread, that does not mean our friend Coffee is playing second fiddle, with a full array of caffeinated beverages ranging from a smooth cortado to refreshing on tap cold brew (brought to you by their bean partner Stumptown Coffee Roasters) there is absolutely something here for everyone. With a large clean space to hang out and unwind, Café D’Avignon is a great place for families looking for a chill place close to the attractions. Just a heads up, their Veggie Croissant sandwich is merveilleux and I’m not even a huge veggie guy.

Located in Metro West not far from Universal Studios, Achilles Art Café has, as the name states, Art! With many local artists adorning the walls (all for sale and commission free too!) you might just see the next van Gogh or Basquiat while sipping on an amazing house favorite cortadito! For a super chill location not far from the action, Achilles Art Café is a great place to steal away to and re-caffeinate.

6 | Foxtail Coffee | In just two years Foxtail Coffee founders Alex K. Tchekmeian & Iain Yeakle have been able to turn their coffee shop into an Orlando household name 10 times over, with that many store locations in the area. At Foxtail it’s all about the beans, sourced from high altitude locations all over the world (the high altitude creates a more complex flavored bean) they roast their beans in-house at their Winter Park location (which also offers a roasting class!), here is where the magic happens, by perfectly roasting the arabica beans they are able to achieve some caffeinated mind blowing flavors in their coffee, everything from lemongrass to blueberries to dark chocolate, these flavors are not just notes for the menu, they actually come through with each sip you take.

7 | Holy Grain Coffee Shop | At Holy Grain Coffee Shop, owner Lilian Trevisan (who is originally from Brazil) shares with us a wonderful Brazilian take on coffee and the scrumptious foods to go with it. Located not far from Universal Studios between the Metro West and Dr. Phillips neighborhoods, Holy Grain is a great little spot to relax by yourself or with friends & family. I recommend enjoying their unique Brazilian Cappuccino after noshing on a simple yet perfect croissant with ham & cheese, yum!

8 | Allegro Coffee Company | Located inside Whole Foods Market, Allegro Coffee Company is great place to grab some fantabulous planet conscious coffee. What also makes this location great, is that if you’re in Orlando for any extended length and you are staying near the Universal/I-Drive/Lake Buena Vista area, you’re probably going to want to make a few home cooked meals if at all possible (eating out not only gets expensive, it does a number on that bikini bod you’ve been working so hard on). So, while stocking up your vacay resort fridge with healthy options, be sure grab a cup of joe at Allegro.

9 | Axum Coffee | With three great locations in the Orlando Area, one in Clermont, FL at Cagan Crossings, while the other two are located on Plant Street in hip Winter Garden, FL, Axum Coffee started its journey in Axum, Ethiopia where founders Brooke and Renaut van der Riet traveled to in 2009. It was in Axum, that the couple experienced a life changing event, while visiting an orphanage they decided to expand their family and adopt four siblings. On top of doubling their family, the trip to Axum, brought the couple to the birth place of coffee, and with that an opportunity to not only roast and share some of the best coffee around, but to also create a business that is set on giving back to the local community, as well as giving back to the community where their coffee journey began, Ethiopia. Axum Coffee offers up great spots to just chill and relax with friends and family all while enjoying some of the most delicious coffee around.

11 | Le Café de Paris | Just off the beaten path from Restaurant Row down Dr. Phillips Boulevard is Le Café de Paris. Owned by the lovely couple Claude & Chantal, Le Café de Paris is a fantastic local spot for both great coffee and amazing French inspired food alike. Claude grew up in Metz, France where he and his father would pick the freshest beans as they came into port and then process them at the family roastery, this is where he learned the art of blending coffee and now shares his special blend with us here in Orlando. With the combination of fresh delicious food (I recommend their Lorraine quiche, mwah, fantastique!) and exclusive specialty coffee you can’t get anywhere else, Le Café de Paris is on my list for a reason… it’s just so good!

12 | Coffee Shop of Horrors | For those of you who like a scare to go with your morning caffeinated ritual, I summon the Coffee Shop of Horrors, mmmmmwwwwahahahahahaha! Located just outside of Orlando in the rolling hills of Montverde, Coffee Shop of Horrors offers ghoulish coffee that is just strong enough to wake the dead and the living. The shop’s very own house roasted coffees are themed with spooktastic names, I suggest their Reanimator Morning Blend, which is a frightening combination of South American and Indonesian coffee… it’s alive!!!! The shop offers their coffee from two ounce to 5-pound bags and are never on the shelf longer than thirty days for freshness (it’s a formaldehyde free zone). If a face melting hot coffee is not your thing don’t be scared, Coffee Shop of Horrors offers all kinds of iced coffee, tea, and if you’re being terrorized by a sweet tooth, then their coffee infused soft serve ice cream is to die for!!!

Steps away from beautiful Lake Eola, Deeply Coffee offers up some very cool coffees from boutique roasters around the globe to try (You can easily get a different coffee every time you go). There is a good chance while you’re here that you might run into an art show, wine tasting, or some other local event; the staff are super cool and informative, as Deeply strives to be a positive part of the hood. While you’re at Deeply be sure to grab a deliciously killer waffle or pastry (Homemade pop-tarts… say what???) to go with your cup of joe.

No need to waste your time though scouring the streets of the World Showcase for the best caffeinated drink, I’ve got you covered. Located on the streets of Morocco you will find Tangierine Café, which offers some of the best bang for your buck when it comes to “counter service” food inside the parks. 19 | Starbucks at Disney Springs West Side | Listen, I know what you’re thinking…Starbucks?!? How dare you put Starbucks on this list of 20 Coffee Shops in Orlando!! Well friends I dared, here’s why, you see there are a lot of people working really hard here in Orlando that need to stay caffeinated and most of the time the only place that is near their job or work is the coffeehouse with the green two tailed mermaid (two tails, it’s just not normal). That all being said, when it comes to Starbucks, the West Side Disney Springs locale is not just any old Starbucks, it’s the crème de la crème, with a super cool interactive wall, great indoor/outdoor seating, amazing views, and all the industry powerhouse drinks you’ve come to know and I admit, love (frappe extra whip anyone?), you absolutely could do much worse when hunting for a nearby caffeine fix.
