10 Non-Touristy Things to Do in Orlando

“The traveler sees what he sees. The tourist sees what he has come to see.” - G. K. Chesterton

Time to explore some non-touristy things to do in Orlando proper? When you mention Orlando, the first thing that comes to mind,... besides the dreamy vistas from gorgeously themed Orlando hotels and (perhaps the dreamier actor) Orlando Bloom,... is exciting theme parks with sites and sounds from all parts of the world. Truth be told, Orlando is home to Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park where most kids believe the real Cinderella Castle is found, along with the most likely place to meet all-time classic cartoon figures such as Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck.

It is no surprise why Orlando is recognized as the “Theme Park Capital of the World.” The city boasts the most popular parks in the world such as the Walt Disney World Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and Universal Orlando Resort, just to mention the main ones (as well as LEGOLAND Florida Resort just a 45-minute drive down the road in Winter Haven). However, unlike what most people tend to believe, there’s plenty more to see and do in Orlando besides the theme parks.

In fact, there are lots of exciting indoor and outdoor recreational activities happening on a daily basis on different parts of Orlando during those days when you need to take a break from the theme parks.
